Manjapaneblat of 24 players files for NHL wage arbitration


Andrew Manjapane The Calgary Flames are one of 24 restricted free agents to apply for wage arbitration before the July 17 deadline, according to the NHL Players Association.

The 26-year-old forward posted NHL career highs in goals (35), assists (20) and points (55) in 82 regular-season games last season. He had 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 12 Stanley Cup playoff games.

Notable players submitted include strikers Jasper Blatt (New Jersey Devils), Yamamoto Keller (Edmonton Oilers) and Mason Appleton (Winnipeg Jets).

Last offseason, 17 restricted free agents filed for arbitration, with two scheduled for team-selected hearings; each agreed to a contract by the hearing date.
