Mother of Sandy Hook victim sparks backlash against Alex Jones: Full text?

The mother of the six-year-old boy murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting has testified in the Alex Jones defamation case and spoke directly to the right-wing Infowars host about the damaging effects of his conspiracy claims.

Jesse Lewis’ parents, Scarlett Lewis and Neil Heslin, are suing Jones and his company, Free Speech Media, for $150 million, accusing them of a 2012 conspiracy in Connecticut. Harassment after the Newtown shooting.

“Jesse is real,” Ms. Lewis told Jones during her testimony Tuesday, sitting in court in Travis County, Texas. “I’m a real mom.”

She added: “I want to tell you in person because I want you to know that I am a mother first. I know you are a father,” Lewis told Jones.

“And my son exists. You’re still on your show today, trying to say that I’m — insinuating — that I’m an actress. I’m “Deep State.” You have. This week. And I don’t get it .”

She went on to tell Jones that even he didn’t believe his outrageous remarks about the shooting.

“I’m not the Deep State…I know you know…I know you believe me, but you’re leaving this courtroom and saying it again on your show,” she said. “Are you capable of putting yourself in my shoes? Do you have empathy?”

Jones claimed on his show that the shooting in which 20 children and six adults were massacred was a “false flag” operation involving paid actors.

“I think you know Sandy Hook is real, and it does happen…but I don’t think you understand the consequences of airing with a large audience and lying and calling it a hoax…you don’t understand that.”

At one point, Ms. Lewis asked Jones if he really thought of her as an actress.

“Having a six-year-old son shot in the forehead in a classroom is unbearable. … and then having someone continue to lie on top of that, saying it was a hoax, it didn’t happen, it was a falsehood flag, I’m an actress – do you think I’m an actress?”

“No, I don’t think you’re an actor,” he replied before the judge warned him and told him to keep quiet.

She also told Jones that truth is “critical to our world” and is “the foundation of our reality.”

“We have to agree on this in order to have a civil society,” she continued.

Sandy Hook is a hard truth. A hard truth. No one wants to believe that (20) children will be murdered. No one wants to believe this. I understand that people don’t want to believe, actually — I don’t want to believe it. “

She told the court she was unable to return to her home after the shooting, but when she did, she found a phonetic message on the blackboard that read “Nurture Healing Love”.

“Since that day, I have been committed to keeping the children safe,” Ms Lewis told Jones.

“It’s our responsibility. I used to think it’s the school’s responsibility, it’s actually our responsibility. I’ve dedicated my life to this, one in four Americans doubts Sandy Hook happened or doubts Sandy Hook The facts surrounding Dee Hook are not conducive to keeping our children safe.”

She then told the jury that she testified to “get you to stop” and end “the fear that you’re letting people join you from your followers.”

“It’s not staged, like one of you said,” she told Jones.

“This is a real event. It seems so incredible to me, we have to do this, we have to beg you, punish you, make you stop lying. Saying it is a lie. It happened. It happened here. Things are surreal.

“I want to complete an era of truth. An era of truth. Please.”
