Pro-choice vote in Kansas is a ‘big surprise’

Kansas voters passed a “no” on a ballot measure that would remove language protecting abortion from the state constitution, MSNBC political analyst Steve Kornacki said on “The 11th Hour” Tuesday. A “huge surprise”.

Ruhle said, “Let’s get started, Steve Kornacki is on the big board. Steve, how’s it going?”

Kornacki said: “The big story tonight is obviously, this Kansas, this referendum, the Constitutional Amendment. It will keep the Constitution and Kansas fails to provide for abortion rights. As you say, an overwhelming failure. This is A huge surprise happened here. A lot of people didn’t see the fact that the “no” won and didn’t see the importance of it. I think this outcome will have major political implications. Also, the potential here, in your Look where there are no votes, there’s a lot of energy in the suburbs of Kansas City. The Democrats keep saying, hey, this is the kind of voters the Democrats will vote in November. We’ll see if that happens. But this is the biggest headlines.”
