Search launched after witnesses report seeing bleeding woman screaming inside semi truck

New Jersey State Police are searching for a white tractor trailer after a witness said they saw a blood-covered woman screaming for help as she tried to flee the vehicle before being pulled back inside.

The woman was seen moving on Route 130 towards the exit to South Brunswick Creek Road around 2pm on Wednesday police say.

The witness, who has not yet been identified, said the woman appeared to have blood on her face while the man behind the wheel “pulled her back into the cab,” law enforcement added.

The witness was visiting a car dealership when he saw the vehicle pull over as the woman tried to jump from the truck. According to NBC.

South Brunswick Police Department Detective Timothy Hoover told NBC The truck was “pulled aside” and the witness “notice that something was amiss and caught his attention. Then, after careful investigation, he noticed a woman trying to jump off the Bobtail truck”.

“He looked at her and thought she was injured, maybe she had some sort of laceration on her forehead or in the area of ​​her face. She seemed to be in trouble,” added Sergeant Hoover.

Police said the woman was almost entirely outside the truck when she was pulled back.

“As far as I can tell, she has left the cab … completely pulled back,” Sergeant Hoover said.

According to law enforcement, the woman was kicking and screaming for help.

Police shared grainy security footage of the incident, which showed witnesses walking towards the semi-truck and then driving down the busy road.

“The witness started moving towards the vehicle, and as he did so, the woman was pulled back into the vehicle and the vehicle accelerated 130 degrees south,” Sergeant Hoover told News 12.

Police believe the truck is a Volvo or Mack Bobtail truck from 2006 to 2018, possibly with a New Jersey license plate. It is white with arched blue lettering on the side. At the time, it didn’t have a trailer attached.

The victim is said to be a white or Hispanic woman in her 20s. She has long brown hair and was wearing a brown flannel shirt at the time.

The suspect is an older, bald white man with a white beard. He was wearing a blue shirt when witnesses saw him.

police told News 12 They believe it could be a “rolling domestic dispute”.
