Apple finally has a solution to the speaker problem owners of very expensive Studio Display monitors are facing.
Since its launch in March, the Studio Display has suffered from audio issues ranging from distorted or fast playback to complete interruptions.as MacRumors reports(opens in new window)Apple confirmed the issue a few days ago with a memo to its Authorized Service Providers, which also said it was a software issue not related to hardware.
Sure enough, a firmware update has now been released that “fixes audio issues with Studio Display”. Release Notes(opens in new window). The firmware update is still classified as version 15.5, as it was released two months ago, but this latest version uses build number 19F80.

By connecting the Studio Display to the Mac, then navigating to Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update. If the firmware is available for you, click “Update Now” and it will start downloading. Once done, click Restart in the notification that appears and the installation process will begin. If all goes according to plan, all these sound issues should be a thing of the past.
