Donald Trump backs U.S. Senate’s Leo LaLevy in Connecticut

Former President Donald Trump backed Leora Levy for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut on Thursday night ahead of Connecticut’s upcoming primary.

Levy said she was “honored” to have Trump’s full and complete support.

“Thanks President Trump! I am honored to receive your complete and comprehensive endorsement,” Levy tweet. “I’m the only candidate who can beat Blumenthal and hold Joe Biden accountable.”

Levy hopes to defeat Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) in November’s midterm elections. Trump had previously nominated Levy to be the U.S. ambassador to Chile in 2019.

Trump called Levy to support her at a campaign run by two of her opponents, Themis Klarides and Peter Lumaj.

Trump attacked Blumenthal in his endorsement of Levy, calling the Democratic senator “a fool to be laughed at and ridiculed” for making up a “terrible fairy tale” about his military record.

“Leora Levy is running for the U.S. Senate to represent the great state of Connecticut,” Trump Say. “The current senator was a fool to be ridiculed and ridiculed, for years saying he was a brave war hero in Vietnam, then it turned out that he had never been to Vietnam.”

“‘Danang’ Dick acted so sanctimoniously and righteously when in reality he was a coward who has been escaping this disgusting crime against our military for years,” Trump said. Withdrew, in tears, but he didn’t have the courage to leave the race in disgrace in the election a few days later.”

Trump called on Connecticut voters to make Blumenthal “pay for what he did and end your status as a U.S. Senator.”

The former president praised Levy for “doing a fantastic job in life” and mentioned her service on the Republican National Committee.

“In the Senate, she will work to grow the economy, protect the border, fight for energy independence, support our military and our veterans, defend election integrity, protect the Second Amendment, and fight violence and vicious crime. The highest level in Connecticut history. ,” Trump said.

Trump also criticized Levy’s opponent, Themis Klarides, for being backed by “the worst 3 RINOs in the country.”

Trump also accused Clarides of being weak on crime, the U.S. military, veterans and the Second Amendment.

“Leora Levy is an amazing woman, she works hard and smart and will never let you down. What a victory she will be defeating the corrupt Richard Blumenthal in November. Leora has my full and complete support,” Trump concluded.
