A TeamViewer statement read: “Last year, through the partnership, the brand’s international profile has grown significantly.

“Nevertheless, the company has decided to revisit its long-term marketing strategy in light of the current macroeconomic environment.”

TeamViewer CEO Oliver Steil added: “Decision makers at companies are becoming more cautious and are delaying investments.”

Other factors affecting the company are the war in Ukraine and the hesitancy of the tech industry after the COVID-19 pandemic.

United are relaxed about the situation, knowing they have four years to find a new major sponsor.

Chief executive Richard Arnold said the previous search for a new shirt sponsor had been “very successful”, with 10 potential candidates in the final stages.

United finished sixth in the Premier League last season with an all-time low of points.

Earlier this year, they confirmed the appointment of Eric Ten Haag as their new manager, tasked with leading the Red Devils back to the top.

Speaking to fans earlier this summer, Arnold admitted that the previous hierarchy was not up to par.

“Everyone at the club, owner to owner, has admitted that this season has been way below our expectations,” admitted Arnold. “I just want to say that we are not happy with our performance on the pitch.

We are taking decisive action to improve things and there is tremendous commitment and enthusiasm across the club to get back to where we feel we belong – to challenge and win titles.

“We believe change is coming, as action is being taken to drive long-term success. The appointment of Erik ten Hag is the clearest example of this action, and the most important.”
