WASHINGTON — With Iowa no longer expected to be the first leg of the Democratic presidential nomination, Nevada has emerged as a potential front-runner to take its place.

Asian-American and Latino elected officials and activists are stepping up their campaigns to upend the way Democrats pick their presidential candidates. They want the Silver State to kick off the party’s nominating agenda.
