6-year-old New York girl beaten and scooter stolen

Police need help identifying the suspect after a 6-year-old girl was beaten and robbed in Brooklyn recently.

Authorities said the child was in the Williamsburg area near Throop Avenue and Bartlett Street on the evening of July 28 when three men approached, NBC New York report Friday.

One suspect allegedly punched the child in the chest while others reportedly took her scooter. Moments later, the three fled the area.

“The girl was treated at the scene. Her scooter is estimated to be worth $30,” the outlet said.

“What’s wrong with the world? I mean, how can you bend so low?” a neighbor said of the incident. “I’m speechless because, six years old?”

Authorities believe the suspect is between 14 and 16 years old.

“It’s ridiculous because there are so many kids in this area, especially in this neighborhood,” said another neighbor.

Police are asking members of the public for more information about contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Similar incident occurred in Queens, suspect near A 16-year-old man allegedly knocked him off a scooter and then punched and kicked him, ABC 7 reported in April.

“The teenager was stabbed in the back and the suspect took off with his scooter, backpack and mobile phone,” the outlet said:

Violent crime rates in several Democratic-controlled cities across the country rose this year from last year, according to a report released in June.

Data reviewed by Fox News found violent crime rates such as homicide, rape, robbery and assault in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Philadelphia and Baltimore will surpass last year’s levels.

New York City, where Democratic Mayor Eric Adams is based, is experiencing the highest increase in violent crime.
