Alexander Mitrovic bullies Trent Alexander-Arnold to give Fulham a lead over Liverpool

Fulham on their return Premier League Aleksandar Mitrovic puts them ahead Liverpool At Craven Cottage.

Mitrovic, who scored an incredible 43 goals in the Championship last season, continued his stellar form in Saturday’s kick-off.

Shortly after half an hour, Mitrovic was unstoppable in Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson’s header after he passed Trent Alexander-Arnold at the back post.

It was a well-deserved lead for Fulham, who came close several times earlier in the first half.

At the start of the game, Mitrovic almost scored, but could only shoot wide.

Then, as Fulham worked hard for the opening goal, he came close to a near-post corner from former Manchester United defender Andreas Pereira.

Liverpool thought they had taken the lead when Luis Diaz hit a superb shot from the top corner, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Fulham then took the lead and Mitrovic rose to the top to open the season.

Liverpool responded well to the goal and almost equalised, but Diaz could only hit the crossbar with a powerful shot and Fulham made it 1-0 at half-time.

Alexander-Arnold gets the attention of fans for defending goals.

“TAA is a very good footballer, but his aerial skills, especially defensive crosses, are his weaknesses. Fulham know that,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Another added: “Trent lost that air fight in most of the races. Not surprised.”

However, many Liverpool fans were indignant that Henderson’s potential foul in front of goal did not result in a free-kick.

“Bad referee. ‘Intentional’ or not, this is a foul for Henderson,” one fan wrote.

Another wrote: “It was a clear foul for Henderson, but a well-deserved goal for Fulham who did a great job. The Reds had a very bad and disappointing first half. “
