Manchester United have signed Euro 2022 winner Nikita Paris from Women’s Super League rivals Arsenal.
The 28-year-old striker made two substitute appearances during England’s campaign and made 67 appearances for the Lionesses.
She joined Mark Skinner’s team after a previous season at Everton and Manchester City.
“It feels unbelievable to be here,” said Paris, who has signed a contract until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Paris, from Liverpool, won the Champions League with Lyon in 2020 and will now be joined by Manchester United’s Lionesses Ella Toone, Alessia Russo and Mary Earps.
“It’s been a pretty good summer, that’s the most important thing,” she added. “Manchester United is a club with a long history that has made great strides in the WSL and I can’t wait to be a part of it. [the club’s] future success.
“With my winning mentality in games and training, I want to help this team move forward and grow. I’m not the only new signing this summer, which shows that the club does have an intention to do so. I’m happy to be here and can’t wait. to begin.”
Skinner is hoping to improve on last season’s fourth-place finish in the WSL, where the Red Devils narrowly missed out on European football.
“Nikita’s winning pedigree will be a great addition to our team,” he said.
“She is a proven winner on the national and international stage and will bring a real maturity to the environment.
“Acquiring a player like Nikita cements the ambitions of this great club for the season ahead and we look forward to welcoming her into pre-season after her well-deserved break!”
