How to Draw a Nutcracker – let’s get Initiated!
Step 1
Nutcrackers can come in various styles and designs, but a few elements are fairly consistent across many toy examples. One of them is the tall, rectangular hats they usually wear, and with that, we are going to start this first step of our guide on how to draw a nutcracker. First, before we draw the rectangular outline of the hat, we’ll add a thin, curved shape over the front.
You can then draw a small circle with a smaller circle inside of it on top of this curved shape. Next, draw the rectangular shape of the hat as it arises in the reference image. You may use a ruler for this system if you have one handy. Add a thin brim to the top and bottom of the hat, and then finish with some small triangle shapes that make a pattern on the top brim.
Step 2
After drawing the Nutcracker’s hat, we can start drawing the head at this step. Use your ruler to draw some straight lines down at a slight angle from the base of the hat. You can start drawing the base of the face on either side but don’t draw a full line.
Instead, draw a small rectangle. in the center of the bottom of the face and then draw some teeth in a grid pattern. Finish off with a thin, upright nose, an attached curly mustache, a few rolls of eyes, and some rounded hair shapes on the side of the head. Then you are ready for the third step of the guide!
Step 3
Next, in this guide on how to draw a nutcracker, we will draw the arms and body of the toy. First, draw some flat shapes on the shoulders with a rounded part on top of each one. Then add another rounded shape below each one with some lines running through them.
Then use your ruler to draw some straight vertical lines to outline the rectangular body. Then draw some rectangular shapes on the body’s flanks with curved line points along them. Finally, draw some simple hands on the ends of the arms before continuing.
Step 4
For the next step of your nutcracker drawing, we’ll add some details to this toy soldier’s uniform. First, draw four circles on the Nutcracker’s chest and then connect them with straight lines.
Next, we will draw a belt for the Nutcracker. This will have a court with a smaller square inside for the buckle, and then some thin rectangular forms will be used for the belt belts. Then you’re prepared for the final points and elements in the next step of the guide.
Step 5
You’re ready to add the final elements to your image in this step of our guide on how to draw a nutcracker! We’ll be focusing on the Nutcracker’s legs in this part, and as you can see in the reference image, they’ll be quite small and stubby.
The tops of the legs will be somewhat triangular, and then you can draw the boots. You are facing out. You can then finish with a few more triangle shapes to form your coat tails behind your back.
Once you’ve finished these elements of the Nutcracker, you can also finish it off nicely with a few details of your own! Making a Christmas photo by drawing an animated background could be fun. What kind of environment would you create for him if you had this idea?
Step 6
Now it’s time to finish this Nutcracker drawing with some color. Since this is a plaything associated with Christmas, it only makes me feel about coloring it with some colors equally associated with Christmas, which is what we did in our reference image.
We used reds and golds for her outfit and dark blues for her hat. Do you think you will use similar colors in your drawing or choose unique colors instead? We look ahead to seeing what mediums and colors you select for this picture.
